Bake Something Delicious: Granny’s Apple Pie Blondies

Did you know Nectar of the Vine mixes can be used for more than just making wine slushies? You can use them in cooking and baking too! Try something a little different with our Granny's Apple Pie Wine Slushy Mix and turn it into a cozy fall dessert.

These soft, apple-packed blondies combine fresh Granny Smith apples with the warm flavors of Granny's Apple Pie for a delicious treat that's perfect for sharing. Serve them on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra-special dessert.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup melted butter

1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 10-oz. bag Granny's Apple Pie Wine Slushy Mix

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3/4 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons baking powder

3 cups all-purpose flour

3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and Granny's Apple Pie mix until well blended.

4. Add the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.

5. Gradually add the flour and mix until combined. The batter will be thick.

6. Fold in the diced apples and walnuts, if using. As the apples are incorporated, the mixture will loosen into a thick, brownie-like batter.

7. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

8. Sprinkle the white sugar evenly over the top.

9. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until the center is set with a soft, brownie-like consistency.

10. Allow the blondies to cool completely before cutting into bars.

11. Serve as-is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Baking Tip

You can bake these blondies ahead of time and freeze them for later. Add the sugar before baking, or drizzle with icing when serving for an extra finishing touch.
